What to Expect...

The time is finally here! This Saturday, April 8 you can find us at Yellow Cab Tavern for the 2nd Annual Dayton Barbecue Rodeo. While this is extremely exciting for us, we wanted to take the time to let you know what to expect from us Saturday, and what you can look forward to in the future when our truck is finally up and running.

Dayton Barbecue Rodeo: Smoked Classics and Specialty Sandwiches

Unfortunately, we didn't reach our goal of having the truck done by Saturday. BUT, we couldn’t pass up being a part of the rodeo. We’ll still be hand tending the fire overnight to make sure you get the best barbecue we can offer.

If you’re a classic bbq fan, you won’t be disappointed. Saturday we’ll be cooking up pulled pork, brisket and local Bowman Landes turkey. You can try any of these three on their own, on a classic sandwich, or all 3 together with our sauces (white for turkey).

The Future and #HuffmanHustle: More Meat….and a lot more CHEESE

With a name like S&S Meat House you may have guessed we’re pretty big fans of all sorts of meat. Once we open up shop in Huffman next to our friends at DK Effect, you can expect:

  • Ribs (pork and beef)
  • Pork belly
  • Our own S&S sausages
  • Chicken wings, and Fried chicken
  • No meat haven is complete without a delicious burger.

Our truck will also give us the ability to craft more unique sandwiches and toppings.

We also realize meat isn’t for everyone. What’s the second best part of barbecue? The sides. We’re excited to continue working on side dishes that ooze cheesy goodness, and make you look twice; Jalapeno cheddar cornbread fritters, mac ‘n cheese (varieties, including fried), tater tot nachos (totchos), and more.

Fun and Games

"Barbecue is what you do while the meat is cooking." - Chris Lilly, Big Bob Gibson BBQ

Food is important to us, but so is the experience. When you join us on the weekend at 1528 E. Third street you can expect a cool place to hang out. We'll have cornhole, giant jenga, giant connect 4, a large tent and tables for you to hang out. Occasionally we'll have friends slide by and play some music acoustic. We just want to hang out and eat good food. At the end of the day you'll always have DK Effect next door to go back-and-forth between.

In closing, we’re not where we want to be, but we’re coming for ya Dayton. Look out!
